Fender has chosen to donate the funds to the MVT, in appreciation of the essential function grassroots venues had in his early career.

Since the start of 2023, over 150 of these locations have shut down – about one-sixth of the whole industry in the UK.
In the last year, top acts such as the band Pulp, the group Coldplay, Katy Perry and Sheeran have all backed the MVT in its efforts to support the industry, by applying a modest fee to their ticket prices, which benefits independent venues.
Sam Fender also joined in, collecting over £100k on his recent tour to support numerous small stages across the UK.
These funds supported venues that were facing imminent closure due to challenges stemming from flooding, blazes and personal losses, as well as permit problems, legal disputes and neighbor objections.
Some locations received financial assistance in modernizing amenities and technical equipment that positively impacted artists and fans.
"The idea that funds from performances in big venues supports the independent spots, where it begins for musicians like me, is just sensible," Fender has stated.
